Seeing the beauty of the grand amerta bhuana temple, the largest temple in batam
The city of Batam with its many immigrants has a lot of ethnic and religious diversity.
Hinduism is no exception, which is commonly found in the province of Bali. One of the manifestations of the existence of the Hindu community in the city of Batam is the existence of a temple as a place of worship.
Pura Agung Amerta Bhuana is the largest temple in Batam located on Gajah Mada Street No. 3, Sei Ladi, Sekupang sub-district, Batam. It is located on the left side of the road from the direction of Tiban.
There are stairs leading to the Candi Bentar building which is the entrance gate or barrier between the Nista Mandala section and the outside of the temple.
On the side, there is a large inscription Pura Agung Amerta Bhuana Batam made with Balinese ornaments. This temple is a place for Hindu people to pray and worship. However, there are also non-Hindu tourists who come just to see the beauty of this temple.
A little further inside, there is a warning board containing the rules for entering the temple. Visitors who are menstruating, have given birth before 42 days, and in a state of death before 32 days are prohibited from entering this temple.Pura Agung Amerta Bhuana was built in 1999 with an area of 2 hectares. Pura Agung Amerta Bhuana was built in 1999 with an area of 2 hectares.v5 years later, in 2004, this temple was inaugurated by the minister of Religious Affairs, prof. Dr. Said Agil Husin Al Munawar. There are several types of buildings in this temple, namely Gedong, Padmasana, Taksu, Taman Ayu, and Pasraman or special educational institutions in the field of Hinduism. One of the most striking buildings is the padmasana which is the place of worship of Sang Hyang Widhi.
Padmasana comes from the word Padma which means lotus and Asana which means the best attitude in worship. The Padmasana building in this temple is the tallest in Indonesia. Its height reaches 13 meters or 28 meters above sea level.
In the Taman Ayu section, a shady and cool feel is felt with the many frangipani trees that grow around it.
In addition to the temple, here is also built a temple named Sri Lalitha which is intended for Indians. This is because visitors who come are not only Batam residents, but also tourists from India, the majority of whom are also Hindus.
Since this temple is a place of worship, it is better to maintain good manners and not make noise while visiting this temple. Do not forget to wear polite clothes and do not wear skirts or shorts when entering the temple.
If you want to take pictures, it is better not to use flash and sound because it can disturb the comfort of other people who are worshiping. Another rule that should not be violated is to damage or climb the tems
