Mie Lendir

Mie Lendir is a specialty of Batam Island and Bintan Island, Riau Islands Province. It consists of yellow noodles boiled with bean sprouts and served with a hard-boiled egg halved, then doused with a thick peanut sauce. This thick peanut sauce is where the name Mie Lendir comes from.

As an indigenous tribe that has inhabited Batam and Bintan for centuries, it is no wonder that Malay traditions are dominant in the city. It is quite difficult to find distinctive food, due to Batam’s heterogeneous location.

As one of the most favorite hangout places for young people in Batam, Melayu Square introduces a wide variety of Malay specialties. Located right on the edge are Lakse, Mie Lendir and others.

Lakse is one of the Malay specialties in the form of soup containing bengkoang, cucumber, yellow noodles, bean sprouts, sprouts and tamban fish curry. This menu is always ready waiting for you to enjoy it immediately.

Meanwhile, Mie Lendir is a Malay specialty consisting of noodles, sprouts and boiled chicken eggs, then doused in thick sauce, making it look like slime. It looks strange indeed, but its savory taste and not too spicy, makes Mie Lendir has its own characteristics, as the main dish of the city of Batam. In addition, Mie Lendir spicy menu can be enjoyed if added with slices of cayenne pepper.
